FACES OF SEAN May 2006

Note: No one here is employed by SEAN. They all represent churches or ministries that use SEAN.

Congratulations Don Rodrigo!

Pastor Rodrigo Granados is one of the pioneer leaders of SEAN TEE in Costa Rica. His leadership built up the interdenominational programme to over 10.000 students. For his wonderful contribution to Theological Education in Central America, Don Rodrigo was recently awarded a PHD Honoris Causa, by the Universidad Cristiana del Sur of Costa Rica.

We recently got this encouraging note from Paradise, California, USA:

“Paradise Alliance Church serves about 3000 people in our community. For five years we’ve been using the Life of Christ series based on Matthew’s Gospel. We so appreciated the excellent curriculum used in this Bible study that we began using Abundant Life too. Abundant Life is quickly becoming our first tool in mentoring new Christians. Again, the curriculum too, is so well laid out for a new believer to follow.”

THIS NOTE HAS JUST COME IN ON ANGOLA:

“This is just to let you know that Dr. Adrian Chatfield has returned from Angola with amazing stories of blessing and growth using the SEAN materials- far more than we can keep up with! There are already twice the number of students and centres planned for and they have already practically finished vol 1 with some very creative practical application of the material in terms of local culture.” - Revd. Michael Clark.

Vicar of St. Philip and St. James, Ilfracombe , England

A GREETING FROM ILFRACOMBE , ENGLAND

In February we launched the Coastal Bible School with an initial intake of 40-50 people, and teaching Pure Gold (The Big Picture in the USA ). It went really well! This term we have started with 50+ participants, using Pure Gold and Life of Christ. It's expanding more and more and having more and more interest shown in it. We've even got a group from Ilfracombe RC Church coming to do Pure Gold next term. It's bringing together both church members and church leaders from all round the area. We meet at the top of the hill above Ilfracombe/Woolcombe in the large upstairs lounge of a family restaurant.

I hope you'd be encouraged by it, as it feels like a full circle with you and your Dad  having developed the materials , and now they are being used back here!

Note: Tony Barratt, founder of SEAN, served several years as a youth leader in Ilfracombe.

SEAN owes a lot of its expansion throughout the World to Latin American missionaries, who first studied in their countries of birth in Spanish. However, many of them are children of immigrants. Such is the case of József Német, of Argentina . The Lord has led them to leave their country of birth to return to the land of his ancestors - Hungary . His ministry there is translating SEAN courses and promoting TEE in that country.

We have received this encouraging report from TEE Korea:

“The Central Church of the Korean Army in Seoul has large number of the retired Generals and Field Officers, including a number of the former officers in high positions. The congregation has about 1,000 members. Since September of 2003, under the leadership of Stephen Cho and the TEE members of Onnuri Community Church in Seoul 600 members have finished one or more SEAN courses (Abundant Life, Abundant Light, Life of Christ). This church is the very “Epicenter”, from which TEE is spreading to other churches in Korean military camps throughout the nation.”
